StandBy Clock Night Display (the “App”)
Effective date: May 4, 2026
Last updated: May 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the App processes information when you use it. The App is operated by an independent developer (“we,” “us,” or “our”). If you have questions, contact us at hexa.octabin@gmail.com.
Summary. The App is a clock and bedside-style experience. It does not require an account. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use the App to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising. Some optional features use Apple system permissions or connect to third-party services you should know about, as described below.
We do not operate a login system for the App and we do not maintain our own backend that stores your profile or content on our servers. Routine App Store distribution, crash/analytics data collected by Apple (if applicable), and your device’s network connection to third-party weather infrastructure are separate from any server we operate.
The App stores preferences and similar settings locally on your device (for example, using UserDefaults), such as:
This information remains on your device unless you delete the App or erase device data.
With your permission, the App may access your device location to support features such as placing you on the dotted world map-style clock face and requesting local weather information.
When weather is fetched, the App sends latitude and longitude to the third-party weather provider described in Section 5. The App may also use Apple’s geocoding services to derive a human-readable place name on the device; that processing is governed by Apple’s policies.
You can allow or deny location access in iOS Settings at any time.
With your permission, the App may read calendar events and/or reminders to display them alongside certain clock faces. With your permission, the App may access your Apple Music library to build playlists for the in-app music experience.
This access is used to display or play content on your device. We do not require you to upload your calendar, reminders, or music library to servers we operate.
When you use weather-related features and an internet connection is available, the App may request current weather information from Open-Meteo (operated by third parties) at api.open-meteo.com. Requests typically include approximate coordinates derived from the features you use (for example, location-based weather), plus standard technical information that HTTPS requests normally entail (such as IP address processed by Open-Meteo and network operators according to their practices).
Open-Meteo’s own terms and privacy documentation apply to their processing. You can review their website for details: open-meteo.com.
The App may check whether a network path appears available before making weather requests, to avoid unnecessary failures. This is used for App functionality.
The App includes Lottie (an open-source animation library; airbnb/lottie-ios), used to render animation assets bundled with the App. Animation rendering happens on your device using the content shipped inside the App.
If you download the App from the Apple App Store, Apple’s collection and use of information is described in Apple’s policies. Certain App features rely on Apple frameworks (for example, location, geocoding, calendar/reminders, media library, audio session, and system URL opening).
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child in a way that concerns you, contact us and we will promptly review the report.
Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing, or to object to certain processing. Because most information is processed on your device or by Apple/third-party infrastructure as described here, your most direct controls are often:
If you use the App outside the country where the developer is located, your information may be processed in other jurisdictions (including through Apple services and Open-Meteo infrastructure) as part of providing the features you enable.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy, to the extent permitted by law.
